We Arrived in Venice September 2. After a long 6 hour train from Munich.

Walking to the Airbnb

We only have 3 nights to see the city, watch an opera, and eat good pizza.

The first night we ate pizza and had a chill night.

In the morning we grabbed a quick breakfast and I grabbed two slices of pizza. After I ate one a Seagull took the other one and gave me a nasty scratch.

Finally we were getting real Italian ice cream.

At our accommodation we had a canal that we could open a door to see fortunately we didn't have access to a boat or we might have used it but the the canals seemed chaotic.

and their first time trying a real Italian aperol spritz (might be moms new favourite drink).

We also got some nice night photos before the opera which we unfortunately only got a couple photos at.

ROME + Vatican

Vatican City

On the first day right after we arrived at our airbnb we called a taxi to the Vatican and went on a guided tour in the museum.

Zoe says the Leaves aren't big enough.

On the second day we came back to climb the basilica.

Zoe decided she didn't want to.

When Dad and I got there we waited in line for nearly 20 minutes, you could get 2 tickets the one with the elevator and the one without the one with was a couple euros extra. Of course me and dad decided without because it only skipped 200 out of 550 stairs so not even half, the person taking our tickets said "oh I see tourists" because he thought the extra 200 stairs was a lot. The climb was quite easy 2/10 and (dad said it was a 6/10). The view from the top was amazing the basilica had to be the tallest building in the area by law, nothing could be taller. You could see all the way to the colosseum it was over a 20 minute drive away.

Rome

The morning of our second day we visited the colosseum it was incredible how massive it was and unfortunate how damaged it was from fires and earthquake.

The two earthquakes were

The earthquake of September 9, 1349 caused serious damage likely to collapse. That of February 2, 1703 caused the fall of two or three arches of the second fence at the south side of the Colosseum.
