We have travelled by foot, train, plane, bus, car, taxi, scooter, bicycle, boat, horse, gondola, rickshaw ... and no camels
We have been on 32 planes and 35 boat rides, from ferries to cruises. Our longest flight was the second one we took from Calgary to Paris.
We've been on 4 live aboard boats: our Nivernais canal boat in France, the gullet on the Med in Turkey, a cruise on the Nile, and 2 nights in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.

We have been to 25 countries: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Vatican City, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Nepal, India, Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Japan. We stayed only 1 night in 4 of the countries, can you guess which ones?
The country furthest away from Vancouver is Mauritius at 16,750km away.

Which means that we started our trip in #7 and finished it in the #1 most populated city in the world. Fun fact: 1 in every 219 people in the world lives in Tokyo!
Tokyo is also the richest city in the world by GDP. You would think that it would be busy everywhere, but we have managed to find many quiet neighborhoods in the middle of all the busyness.
20 Currencies
We have used 20 different currencies. It's a good thing we have Thomas along for a quick currency conversion when needed.
Thomas has now been on 14 dives and has spent 547 minutes of his life breathing under water.
8 Amusement Parks
We have been to 8 amusement parks spanning a total of 12 days (almost 4% of this adventure has been spent in amusement parks!). According to Thomas, our resident expert, the best rollercoaster has been Voltron in Europa park. Here's our order of least to most favourite parks:

1. Europa Park (3 days), which might also be our favourite of all time or maybe it's tied with Universal Studios Florida.
On day 4 after leaving home we were in Disneyland Paris. And finally with just 6 days left before returning home we were in Disneyland Tokyo. We had planned to spend 4 days at Tokyo Disney, but in the end shortened it to 2 days. I never thought that we would choose less Disney days but the lines in Japan are so long and the rides are so tame!
Paris
A New Bed Every 2.6 Days
We stayed at 125 different accommodations ranging from inexpensive, rustic tea houses in Nepal to beach front villas in Sri Lanka and luxury tents in Botswana, and everything in between from hotels, AirBNBs, ryokans, glamping and camping along the way. That means that we moved on average of once every 2.6 days during the entire trip. No wonder we are tired.
Our Little Fish
We managed to swim in 19 of the countries.
This Bed's Too Warm, This Bed's Too Cold
The coldest we've been was on our Annapurna Base Camp trek in Nepal, not that you could tell here:
and the hottest was probably Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Even with cooling towels, it was dreadful:

We've gone from and elevation of -23m underwater in Thailand to 4130m above sea level at Annapurna Base Camp.
6 Inches
Oh my these kids have grown! Thomas started shorter than me and is now close to Travis's height which means that he's grown at least 15cm (6") and Zoe is still at his shoulder 11 months later.

Our group family WhatsApp chat has 1863 posts. This group chat has carried us through and we've valued the connection with our family and friends while being so far away from home.
Travis has bought too many 11 masks.
+33 Kilograms
When we left Vancouver, our checked bags were 42kg total. We now leave Tokyo with much more than that. 75kg!
